Valdez, Alaska, September 27, 2022 – Each year in October members of the Valdez Museum & Historical Archive (VMHA) Staff and Board give an overview of the past year’s progress and accomplishments to our corporate members, the Valdez City Council. During the 2022 VMHA Annual Meeting on October 4, 2022 Council members will be presented with the VMHA Annual Report 2022, a document containing budget summaries; updates on the VMHA’s current financial health; cultural and economic impact on the community; collections management; temporary and permanent exhibits; education, public programs and other pertinent information.
In her message, VMHA Board President Anna Bateman says,
After reading this report, you will see our challenges and understand the steps we must take to ensure we remain a destination for everyone who enjoys learning about the history, heritage and culture of Valdez, the Copper River Basin and Prince William Sound.
Visitors from around the world flocked to the Museum during the 2022 summer season says VMHA Executive Director Patricia Relay. She credits the Museum Staff for such success,
This past year I have had the pleasure to work with an exceptional group of people who have been determined, dedicated and devoted to making the Valdez Museum a safe, welcoming and inviting place for visitors.
The 2022 VMHA Annual Meeting takes place from 6 -7pm on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 in the City Council Chambers and it is open to the public.
