Fish On! Roadhouse Dinner Reunites the Community

Valdez, Alaska, October 5, 2022 – On October 1, 2022 the Board and Staff of the Valdez Museum & Historical Archive were proud to once again bring people together for our first in-person Roadhouse Dinner since 2019. That Saturday night the Valdez Civic Center ballrooms bustled with activity and “good vibes” as we gathered to raise funds for the Valdez Museum. A “fishy” slide show along with songs, skits and an outcry auction made the event lively—all accompanied by a delicious gourmet meal served up by Chef Matt Kress and the Serendipity Supper Club folks—followed by the renowned Dessert Dash!

This year’s theme honored the legacy of the Valdez Fish Derbies and its contribution to growth of tourism in our town. Additionally, funds raised by both the in-person event and preceding week-long online auction will allow us to improve lives by offering enrichment opportunities in developing healthy children, families and community through our exhibits, cultural programs, education and historical interpretation.

The Museum offers up a big THANK YOU to the organizers, sponsors, auction donors, bakers, volunteers and attendees for making this year’s Fish On! Roadhouse a rousing success!

All funds raised at this event are used to support the Museum’s mission driven educational programs, exhibits and presentations.
