Our pledge to the community is to preserve and present the human story. Therefore, voices from all corners of the community need to be included in the planning and implementation of this dynamic process to build a new museum. To make the project successful, as with many others the Museum has undertaken, it will take a village to bring the concept to reality.
Volunteering offers a chance to understand the process, offer feedback and feel a sense of ownership. From the outset this project has been a long road with many detours along the way. Yet we launched the New Museum Project Kick-Off at a “COVID Conscious Community Open House” on October 20, 2020, and it was rewarding to again see the Museum alive with visitors. The real success of our New Museum Project will be felt when volunteers from the community become involved.
