Valdez, Alaska, is a remarkable place with a rich and colorful history and magnificent landscape. Multi-faceted learning experiences, borne out of the region’s compelling stories, the Valdez Museum’s authentic collections and the town’s unique environs, form the basis of the year-round education program.

At the VMHA educators launch, test and evaluate new ideas, collaborate with others, and remain responsive to the audience we serve; one comprised of international visitors, Valdez residents, local and regional students and members of rural communities.

The Museum Education Program:

• Teaches the history, heritage and culture of Valdez, the Copper River Basin and Prince William Sound, AK
• Encourages exploration, observation, immersion, play and innovation
• Fosters sustained growth and understanding, and ultimately life-long learning
