Legacy, loss, perseverance and change are topics which resonate throughout Alaska but have no bounds. Many towns throughout the state have been changed remarkably by natural disasters. These events have left an indelible mark on the Alaskan landscape, its communities and people, and address the broader questions of how we cope with legacy and loss. To commemorate the “1964 Good Friday Earthquake,” the Valdez Museum & Historical Archive is planning a group exhibition of art on the theme of “Communities, Disaster and Change.”
