Valdez, Alaska, June 21, 2021 – The Valdez Museum & Historical Archive recently launched its 2021 Annual Appeal, when once a year we ask everyone to open their hearts and pockets to help us continue sharing the culture and history of our region with the community and people from around the world.
We head into the 2021 post-COVID summer season on a positive note with visitor numbers and Museum Store sales up; but there’s still a long way to go in recouping financial losses from the pandemic’s impact on tourism as well as arts and culture organizations.
We are grateful for ongoing support from the VMHA Board of Directors, like Board Member Amber Mehlberg, who writes:
“I love history and that is why I value the Valdez Museum. On my first visit I brought along some children I was babysitting. It was fascinating and moving to watch their excitement viewing the different exhibits. The Valdez Museum offers a wide variety of opportunities to experience and learn.”
She is steadfast toward her belief in the Museum and its importance to the community:
“Although this last year has been a different kind of year, the Museum remains grounded in a strong sense of responsibility for contributing to the region’s cultural and economic development.”
Thank you in advance for your generous support in helping us reach our goal of $5,000!
